About Newspaper Advertising

Why run an ad in the newspaper?

Print advertising is a powerful brand-building vehicle that has the potential for extended shelf life, since the reader can save a newspaper for a period of time. Print is used to effectively brand the restaurant through a display advertisement, as well as reach out to the active job seeker to announce a hiring event or local positions available. You can use major metro papers, local papers and specialty publications. To reach the passive job seeker you can run in sections outside the classifieds i.e. Sports, Business, Entertainment sections to capture people not looking for a job but open to a new opportunity.

Getting Started

Allow plenty of time for us to get pricing for your newspaper advertisements. Call us in the beginning of the week (Mon. & Tues.) to run an ad for the weekend. Better to have more time than to rush and risk missing a deadline.

Good to Know

Best day to run is Sunday. Wednesday is the second best day.

  • Internet Uploads

Some newspapers offer Internet uploads. If a paper is partnered with an internet site we’ll let you know. If the newspaper is partnered with Careerbuilder, we may be able to offer you even more discounted rates.

How Much Does It Cost?

KFC Employment Marketing or Shaker do not determine the cost of the media space. Space costs are determined by the media reach (circulation, impressions, gross rating points, etc.). As a rule of thumb, the broader the reach of an audience (i.e., major media like metropolitan newspapers, major radio stations, broadcast TV), the more expensive the cost. This is because you are buying a larger share of audience. Small newspapers, Internet sites or other media reach a smaller audience and therefore the cost is less.
